I guess this could be considered bragging rights.  But first, the rant.

I recently upgraded my internet service plan with Comcast.  And as part of their xFi service, they insist you use their xFi modem/router.  Don't get me wrong, it's not a terribly bad piece of hardware for the average user.  It's small, decretive and fairly easy to use in general.   But Comcast really screwed up the configuration software, making it absolutely impossible to share any content that gets trapped behind the firewall.  You get no access to port forwarding settings.  So after 2 weeks of my calling for help and getting absolutely no where, I went out and got my own cable modem.  It's a Assis SurfBoard T25 Cable modem.  It has gigabit connectivity and telephone support.  But I still needed a router that can handle that kind of speed.  My old Netgear N600 can only handle 10/100 networking.  So after some extensive homework, I finally settled on the Asus AX5700 wifi router.  It has 10/100/1000 networking and is wifi 6+ compatible.  I hope this should last me for a while.  Anyway, the included image is the bragging part.

Edit: I noticed the link for the router I posted is for the quad core "U" version.  But mine is the dual core "S" version.  The link has been updated.

Dat be a very decent all over rig!  Good at video editing.  Good at gaming.  And good at generally anything.  But umm, they say that the CD / DVD / BD drives are going the way of the floppy drive.  Most newer cases don't have any external drive bays anymore.  So, I picked up a portable LG USB-C CD / DVD / BD writer/re-writer just so I can still work with any old disks I have laying around.  They are dirt cheap these days.

Last I checked over here they were not cheap, but maybe that's changed I'll have to check.

That one is an eternal BR reader not writer. burns DVD's. I would be looking for a BR burner not just reader, but I'll get to looking soon, just haven't yet.

My bad.  But the fact still stands that you can get external optical drives for under $30.

Is this what you're looking for?  I got this one at Micro Center for $95 US a bit over a year ago.  And it does everything except light scribe.

I think that model isn't available over here. I kept getting stuff about it being discontinued or will not be restocked. but something like that model would be more what I'm looking for.

After God only knows how long it's been since I've gotten a new "decent" monitor, I finally broke down and got one.  Well, a matching pair actually.  This one checked all the boxes for all the features I wanted, and at a price I can live with.  Also got a pair of desk mounted VESA mounts for them.  The reason I went with 2 independent mounts is because all the dual monitor mounts I could find state that they can support 17" to 32" displays.  Yet these are 34" ultrawide.  Better to play it safe than sorry.

To be honest I can't really see there being much weight difference between a 32 inch wide screen an a 34 inch ultra-wide do to the extra-wide would likely be shorter top to bottom but maybe clearance between monitors might be an issue so better safe than sorry. I'd take the same precaution.
I also picked up a LG 3D BLU-RAY DVD Rewriter CP40 refurbished for like $5

It wasn't so much a weight issue I was worried about.  These things are close to 15 pounds a peace without the base mount.  But the width being 32 inches from end to end is what had me worried.  The dual monitor mounts say they can support up to 32-inch displays.  But that's for a standard 16:9 aspect ratio.  These are 21:9 aspect ratio.  Also, good dual monitor desk VESA mounts are not cheap, and I was already near the limit of my budget.

BTW, nice find on the DVD-RW drive Dave.  I assume that's an internal drive?

I got a deal on a 3070 I could not pass on. The card was mined on for about 5 months, factory thermal paste seems fine, slight bit off dust on the fans but seems otherwise mint. got it for 400 Canadian, delivered.
I only lay 1080p currently. but should rock the **** out of any of my VR games too.
Here's the link to the card.
