Because of the security stuff I do I refuse to use my real name on Facebook, as that place is just a Billboard advertising all your personal information if you are foolish enough to post it up there in the first place lol


For example ...

If a hacker wants to try to guess your account information ... many people use the same password multiple places, also some people are foolish enough to have their "secret security question" being "what was your mother's maiden name?" ... and then befriend their mom's whole side of the family .. including their Uncle's from their mom's side who of course still HAVE that last name.  Then some go one step further on making it easy by posting their email address or phone number or school or what city they are in, etc ... so much information on FB they might as well put up a poster on a street corner with all their details.

Maybe I am cynical but if you have seen what I have seen you might say I am not protecting myself enough since I am on there even under false information.

Well, I'm not much of a socialite and I don't like to talk about my personal life to total strangers.  This is the main reason why I don't sign up for things like facebook.  Although I did a myspace page a few years back when that fad was in full swing and I rarely ever checked it then.

Yeah I think you only went on there because I did and then we both kinda just didn't keep up on it because we both are not really social media types but more of home bodies who prefer computers to people lol 

Only reason I am on Facebook is for the work I do with the Kidney Foundation's Facebook. After all they made me their voluntary "Social Media Coordinator"  so I can't exactly not do it lol .. but even then .. I NEVER use my real name on there (the gaming FB). People have asked about my name and I tell them it is for my own privacy. Nothing Facebook can say will ever make me put my full name publicly on a site (unless I am no longer looking for work and no longer care what they find on me) when it is not resume related.   And even then I have those sites set to private so only registered employers can see it and even then they only see relavant info and not my private info unless I let them see more.
