Yeah, I did.  That's when I started tuning into KrisFix youtube channel.  What he has been noticing is it's not a driver level issue.  The cards that are turning up dead are used mining cards.

Indeed.  I'm still on driver 22.11.1 and having no problems at all.  I've been very happy with this card so far.  And it's a relief to know that it isn't going to self-destruct if I update my drivers.

I wouldn't be surprised if she does.  I know a guy I use to work with at the Volvo dealership used one.  And he use to sware by it, like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. 

I am aware but they are encrypted and I change all effected as there are breaches. I also write down pw due to bad memory. 1Password Has Better Security than LastPass. Both provide security features such as: End-to-end AES 256-bit encryption — Both use this unbreakable encryption algorithm to protect all the data in your vault. But anything is only as safe as their holes and leaks right?

I have heard of Bitwarden which is said to offer the best free tier for password management reviewed. Bitwarden is open-source software, and its code undergoes regular audits by independent researchers, making it less vulnerable to hacks and breaches.

A vast majority of cyber-security specialists say that password managers are safe to use. After all, a password manager uses advanced encryption to protect your credentials, while without it, your passwords are accessible to anyone.

However, with breaches it is important to stay on top of them and change when needed.

Unfortunately, password managers have been hacked before. OneLogin was hacked in 2017, and LastPass was breached in 2022. In March 2023, LastPass issued a statement that the breach resulted in unauthorized users gaining unencrypted access to customers' vault data, including information like usernames and passwords.

Ya and I read it but also got an email telling me what to do about it and to keep my account safe and what was at risk and to change the main password as it was the only one at risk since the other ones were behind that wall. I often have to change passwords anyway because of breaches in general and get notifications of them as well. Check out https://haveibeenpwned.com/. You type your email address in there so they can tell you if any logins tied to that email address it will tell you which logins have been compromised due to breaches so that you can change your password to stay safe.

Never reuse the same password on any other sites but use a unique one for each site. Why? Because of breaches.

In April 2021, a large data set of over 500 million Facebook users was made freely available for download. Encompassing approximately 20% of Facebook's subscribers, the data was allegedly obtained by exploiting a vulnerability Facebook advises they rectified in August 2019. The primary value of the data is the association of phone numbers to identities; whilst each record included phone, only 2.5 million contained an email address. Most records contained names and genders with many also including dates of birth, location, relationship status and employer.

Even if passwords were not gleaned from breaches, the information could aid in hackers trying to gain access to your websites even by claiming to be you saying they "lost the password" to get a password reset. Or even to use your information (name, date of birth, address, etc) to try to create new accounts in your name such as opening bank accounts in your name for scammers to use (hackers sell this info them scammers on the black web). You can even search if that stuff has been found stolen online using https://dehashed.com/.

Many times passwords are not breached but other info that could easily lead to them figuring out your login and password can happen. For example, In October 2013, 153 million Adobe accounts were breached with each containing an internal ID, username, email address, encrypted password and a password hint in plain text. The password cryptography was poorly done and many were quickly resolved back to plain text. The unencrypted hints also disclosed much about the passwords adding further to the risk that hundreds of millions of Adobe customers already faced.

Logins are never 100% protected as long as you do login online connecting to any site online. It is just the nature of the net. To keep safe you must stay on TOP of security and the protection of your accounts and logins.

Well as long as you don't reuse passwords for multiple sites and your passwords are not dictionary words and your security questions are not ones that can be answered by looking on any of your social media sites, then you should be fine for the most part.

Also I had posted about it years ago when it first was a problem so not like I do not know about it.

Expect a leak. And be on top of it when it happens.

The thing is if people honestly think their passwords are 100% protected anywhere they have another thing coming to them. That is why you always have to be on top of them. All security notices and all leak notices to change them right away and to never use the same one in more than one spot.  I have seen more breaches happen through sites I am a member on a lot more often than password encryption services. There will never be a perfect solution as long as hackers are working as hard as security experts.

I keep a small stack of post-it notes on my desk with login info for everything I use online.  And most of them are random gen passwords because I get annoyed trying to figure out some crafty password I could remember.

If I did that I would lose those sticky notes though. So I keep a book but since the password encryptor I have gotten a bit lazy at that.  I do try to keep it updated however. I guess we are all lucky all 3 of us live alone

I don't know.  Perhaps it is.  It just works well for me because some sites like my bank and cell phone provider as examples, make me change my passwords fairly often.

As long as there is digital access, there will always be someone trying to exploit it.  As the saying goes.  If something can be used, it will be abused.  It's sad really.
