https://www.ebay.com/itm/234441052163I ordered mine on Amazon for about $54. Canadian dollars before taxes free shipping. I have a couple of motherboards socket 1150-1151 that have a pin or 2 out of place I wanted to repair them but I found between a high powered light and a magnifying glass. Both hands already used and couldn't see the pins good enough anyway, so a Youtube search later and this guy is using a microscope to work on a socket pin repair.
So I start to price out that type of gear thinking it's way too expensive, cause whatever he's using looks really good. mind you it isn't likely as cheap as what I settled for but some of these really cheap USB or wireless microscopes were starting at about $30 plus tax. and had not the worst ratings. I thought the entry level was going to be in the hundreds of dollars.
the original one I looked at was about 44 bucks but came with a crappy all plastic stand and base. this one included the better aluminum base (normally sold separately for $34) for only about $10 more.
I will give a review on how this works out. it looks like a handy tool if you have to inspect anything on a higher detail level.
This was the video I watched. I didn't check his links or research specifically what he was using. just assuming it was probably a bit more high dollar. (yeah setup he's using is over 600 us dollars from the link). But if I get something that allows me to see better hands free, will be worth the amount I paid.
