It's a little scary at first.  But once you learn how to survive a hunt, it gets easier to deal with.

I guess there have been updates in the last month I was not aware of. Were you aware of these ones?

I don't have it but want it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/739630/Phasmophobia/

Currently is CDN$ 15.49 but was on sale I think last week. Wait till the next sale and get it with a steam card? However, I don't know if you would want it as you must use a mic and headphones to fully implement the features of the game.

I have seen the ghosts open closet doors all the time.  They do that at random.  You need to be ready to close it again if your hiding in that closet.
One night, MudKips and I were playing one of the farm houses and asked the entity to open a door for us.  And a door leading out side spun like a revolving door while it began a jump scare.  That was freaky.

Tell me about it.  And most of the entities in this game have telltale traits that can help clue you in on what they are without even solving any clues.

Revenant has incredible movement speed.  If the entity can quickly overtake you a strait line run during a hunt, you already know what it is.

Phantom will phase in and out of visible sight while it hunts.  If all you got is freezing temps and you see the entity hunting like that, 99% chance it's a phantom.

Banshee will target one player from your group.  So if your in another area of the building from where the entity has been found, and you see things like lights blinking around you but it's not happening anywhere else, know that you are the target of a Banshee.  Get out of the building before it hunts.  It will find a new target after you exit the building.

Shade is very shy and you can stop a hunt with simply taking it's picture.

That's just a few from my own experience.  But here is a good list you should read and understand.

Also, smudge sticks can be very helpful when your on the job.  A lot of the missions require smudging a ghost.  But 9 times out of 10, a smudge stick can save your life during a hunt.

Yup.  Those things.

How exactly do you SMUDGE a ghost??

When it's an objective to the mission, You light it up with the lighter and walk the area that you found the entity in.  In most cases, it will prevent the entity from hunting a while longer.

When being focused during a hunt, light one up when the entity is chasing you.  (Listen for the heart beat sound)  It burns for only about 10 seconds.  Figure when it's half way burned, drop it in front of the entities feet and keep running if it's still chasing you.  It's very effective on a Revenant.  As well as most other entities.  It won't stop a Revenant from hunting, but will make him turn away and give you a far better chance to hide if you do it right.
