Windowsfx **2022 Incident: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxB3p_JLvzI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxB3p_JLvzI)**
Ready to ditch Windows for Linux? This is the ideal distro for you
This Linux distribution is very Windows-like in look and feel but very Linux-like in stability and security.

Windowsfx is a Linux desktop operating system that uses the KDE Plasma desktop environment to create a very Windows 11 look and feel.
Easy to change options:
(https://www.zdnet.com/a/img/resize/32ea466903533b4299a04e5c5752894ef52a286e/2022/10/17/44d76f77-b165-43db-b83e-673a4601360f/windowsfx4.jpg?auto=webp&width=1280)
In fact, if you just took a glance at Windowsfx, you'd be certain you were looking at the Microsoft desktop operating system and not Linux.
But Windowsfx isn't just a simple theme that retools KDE Plasma into a very Windows 11-like interface. Windowsfx also includes Android app support, and MS applications pre-installed (such as Edge, Teams, Skype, PowerShell, Office Online, and OneDrive).
You'll find apps like:
- KMail (and all the basic KDE apps)
- AnyDesk
- Google Chrome
- K3b
- ONLYOFFICE
- Java 17
- Steam
- VLC Media Player
- Winetricks

I do like Ubuntu and Knoppix. But neither is known to be good with proton. Linux has made great strides to making it much more new user friendly. And yet, it still has a long way to go to being a solid replacement option for windows. Especially in the gaming side of things.

Then knowing that, that is probably just aids in Microsoft being so confident that they can push people to stay with Windows no matter how far they push it in the direction they want instead of what users want.
I have tried Ubuntu and Knoppix but haven't used it extensively to the point where I can really say how it was with game play as well as other things that may use up a lot of resources.

Linus Tech Tips did a couple of videos on daily driving a Linux OS for gaming and streaming. It took those guys quite some time to install, setup and configure compatible software in order just to play some games. And I don't think any of them managed to sort out all the kinks.
I've tried messing around with my other laptop Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition (https://laptopmedia.com/series/acer-aspire-v-nitro-vn7-791g/) using a spare SSD I have, to install Knoppix first. Then Ubuntu. Both ran on the system very well for the most part. But making it able to play steam games was a nightmare.

Usually those OS's have lower resource requirements so I could install it on one of my dad's old laptops (not gaming computers) just to get a feel without putting it on my main computer but as far as gaming they can't handle games even on Windows lol.

Here is the nice thing about those 2 Linux distros. You don't have to dedicated to fully installing them if you don't want to. They can be configured to run as a live OS and run from a CD or flash drive. Well, I know that Knoppix can, and Ubuntu used to. I'm not sure if Ubuntu still has that option. But you could fully use them that way. Configure them and even install what you want on them. But keep in mind that they run from a self-configured ram drive. Meaning if you shut down or reboot, you will be starting fresh again.

I didn't give that idea much thought, until now. But you're not wrong.
And then again, you could setup a virtual partition on your system to run other OS installs from within windows install. That can be almost just as secure.

If anyone wants to setup a VM (virtual machine) to test or run other OS's, here is how you do it.

Are you serious? Got any proof of this? If that's true, this could be very bad for all current Windows 10 users. As that will open doors for hackers worldwide.
On the plus side, it would mean that MS must patch the vulnerabilities while it's still supported.

I fail to understand why you guys would be excited over the thought that Windows 10 source code got leaked. Can someone please explain?

Every now and then when I say something that is meant to be sarcastic, I will sometimes add [Sarcasm] [/Sarcasm] tags.

I must say I have never seen you do that once. :P

Cause I don't do it very often. Besides, the times I did it here got lost in the database corruption when we lost more than half of the forums posts.
